HISTORY OF THE FOUNDATION
The Funmi Babington-Ashaye Foundation was founded in 2015 as a non-profit organisation primarily focused on making positive impacts in the lives of indigent students through scholarships. I was motivated to start the foundation due to all the challenges I have gone through in life and surmounted by the special grace of God.
The foundation is divided into two areas:
- Payment of school fees for brilliant students from humble background.
Since inception, FBA Foundation has over the years successfully given scholarships to over 200 students from:
- University of Lagos
- Lagos State Polytechnic
- Lisabi Senior and Junior Secondary School, Abeokuta.
- The FBA Mentors program: In 2020, mentoring program for women was launched. In the last three years, the mentees grew from 15 to 44 members. The Mentorship program has successfully hosted several seminars ranging from Leadership, Finance and personal effectiveness, and one on one mentoring session with the founder.
